Melanie Martinez Bio

Melanie Martinez was born on April 28, 1995. She is an American singer, songwriter, director, screenwriter and actress. She grew up on Long Island in New York State. She was raised in a Dominican and Puerto Rican family. Even though she grew up in a Spanish household she never learned to speak Spanish. At a young age Melanie describe herself as a emotional child and because of this it was hard for her to fully express herself in her traditional household. She taught herself to play guitar soon she started writing her own songs. Melanie audition for the voice and won a spot on Team Adam in 2012. Even though she never won soon after her life change forever when she got signed to Alantic Records where she still is signed today.
